Things like 'wtf' and 'k' don't bother me all that much, but when I see someone going "hehehe u r [whatever]" the first thought that comes to my mind is "sie. Idiot."

ROFLMFAO I'm so suprised people still think about this. Their not really abbreviations. lol, and lmao, and wtf are comp talk. It helps get a point accross to people quicker. Heck do you guys say PS2? Well then would that mean you're to lazy to say Play Station 2, yes. But when you use these things for the internet it's just comp/chating talk. There's nothing saying there to lazy. But wow I delt with this type of topic like 2 years ago on another forum lol so I thought it was over. EDIT: Also wanted 2 add saying, looking @ ZOPharX's sig it says MSPaint. Well is he 2 lazy 2 type out what the MS stands for? & yeah with that whole Fooly Cooly thing. The name is FLCL but we know it as Fooly Cooly. Also, you must be lazy as well yeah, because I'm guessing you've typed etc before. So r u 2 lazy 2 type etcetera? Oh & yeah, don't ya just love my avatar? it's just great how it says "LOL" "OMG" "BBQ" and uses all sorts of comp talk PS. Chaos let's keep this topic open. I wanna have some fun outta how this turns out lol

I agree with dizzy,
but In Yeah's defense, sometimes I cant stand the hardcore otaku talkers who use numbers as alphabets as well, when they alphanumericly like 'L33T' or '1 0W/\/' my friends name is jamie, he calls him self Jammy, and he always spells it like Ja(X)(X)Y and I cant stand the abused Otaku Talk, Faces dont bother me at ALL you may have noticed I use Otaku Faces as well, lol
Apart from that, 100% with Dizzy

Again - Abbreviations themselves don't really annoy me, just when people use u/ur/similar, and that is only because the vast majority of people I've met who use them have turned out to be raving idiots, so I've aquired a bit of dislike for the whole thing. [EDIT] "leetspeak" must die.

It actually depends on my mood I've actually used etcetera before and I have also used Playstation 2 before it just depends if I'm feeling lazy or not. I have actually used lol before which is really freakin rare the only reason why I used that is because I was screwin around.

lol this is getting to be a blast. Ok so you mean to tell me when you talk with your friend you'd say -laughs out loud- or hahahaha? lol man just because I use lol or wtf doesn't mean I'm lazy. Trust me I know a bunch of people like that. But to have people still say "it's annoying when I see people use words like wtf" That's just retarded because everyone uses comp talk. Heck even at school if we pass notes we use comp talk just so it's quick and easy to write. It depends on your mood? lol What when your feeling happy you'll actually use a but if you're pissed off you'll just say -smiles-. Dude honestly it's just such a stupid thing to say you don't like the way people say things. I hope you don't walk into a grochery store and say to the person at the register "Sorry I'll find someone else, you speack to quickly" What's next? People that were born on Tuesdays with red hair and brown eyes at a height of 5'7? Gimmi a break it's just a simple language, if you can't handle it that's pretty said.

[EDIT] "leetspeak" must die. I totally agree with you leetspeak should die. Ok so you mean to tell me when you talk with your friend you'd say -laughs out loud- or hahahaha? hahahaha that's what I do or use a smiley. lol man just because I use lol or wtf doesn't mean I'm lazy. Trust me I know a bunch of people like that. But to have people still say "it's annoying when I see people use words like wtf" I got used to wtf because some forums don't allow cussing at all, but allow wtf. things like k, r, and u using those is laziness at its finest those bug me. That's just retarded because everyone uses comp talk. Heck even at school if we pass notes we use comp talk just so it's quick and easy to write. Since everyone does it it's ok to do? My firend doesn't use net lingo, so I'm not the only one. It depends on your mood? lol What when your feeling happy you'll actually use a but if you're pissed off you'll just say -smiles-. When I'm happy I will sometimes abbreviate things, but when I'm pissed I don't abbreviations because when I'm pissed that usually means I'm in a heated arguement. If you use abbraviations in a serious arguement it just makes you look like an idiot. Dude honestly it's just such a stupid thing to say you don't like the way people say things. I hope you don't walk into a grochery store and say to the person at the register "Sorry I'll find someone else, you speack to quickly" Fast speakers don't bug me because my mom speaks fast its the lazy speakers. If I were to say something to the guy at the register I would say "sorry I'll find some else that doesn't speak like a lazy ass", but since I'm such a great guy I deal with it and sigh or mumble. What's next? People that were born on Tuesdays with red hair and brown eyes at a height of 5'7? Gimmi a break it's just a simple language, if you can't handle it that's pretty said. Just because it bugs me doesn't mean I can't handle it. It doesn't bother me the way people look most of them.

Incorrect. Very few of my friends use it, unless we're mocking someone who does use it.

I read "everyone" as in "an extreme majority"
And since dumping AOL about five years ago, the majority of the people I've spoken with online have not used 'netspeak'

We all have our different opinions,
but as cool and badass forumers, we have to learn to respect each others opinion no?
Smileys get on my nerves the most, unless im in a pleasent mood, which is 85% of the time,
its because when im angry, I see a cartoon smile at me, and it drives me insane, lol
