.Hack//Sign INFECTION, MUTATION, OUTBREAK, QUARANTINE
Warning: This gameshould be played when all 4 parts are with you, and I mean all 4 parts!!! You'll know why soon!
Review:
A RPG based on a MMORPG.... .Hack//Sign (Sign only, Limanality was ok, but Legend of the Twightlight Bracelet was awfully childish) anime has always been awesome. Many has feared it because Bandai was in charge of gameplay, well, this time Bandai has not Dissapointed me...my Friends, this Idea is fresh, refreshing and when I think about it, I'd say AWESOME. This is what real MMORPGs should be like, this is MMORPG Dream, this is HEAVEN
Gameplay: 9.5
You're a Character in an MMORPG, you get to do everything that an MMORPG offers. Trade, Buy weapons, Party, Level up, Kill Monsters...well that's what you'd expect if only this game was normal, of course it ISN'T! There're forces in the game just as the game "The World" is created, forces that changed your destiny and defination of an MMORPG...the story is Deep, Dark, and Wonderful You get an ability which only you can use. You find wonderful Allies who you can team up with to P4W3N monsters. You even get to raise PETs to ride on !
In the end, you get a beautifully linked and dark storyline in a game that has Life in it!!!
Graphics: 8.5
I find the Graphics ok, they didn't improve much through the series, the monsters gets repititive during the last Part <Quarantine>. Otherwise, it's great for an RPG which isn't exactly an RPG (I'm getting there)
Controls: 9.0
Here comes the fun part, instead of the usual Turn based RPGs with commands that we see so very often, this time, you get, well...YOURSELF! You run along with your allies following you every step of the way, you find a Magic portal where 1 to a bunch of monsters will apear, and you Run in and FIGHT! No you don't just press x all the way...You actually control yourself!!! You run towards the enemy and Hack THEM! You cast spells using skills you equipment gives, and what about your Allies? You don't control them...WHAT!? Well YES, you DON'T control them, instead you tell them what to do during the battle. Usually it'll be Skills and they'll start bombarding with both Magical and Physical skills they have on your enemies (They're clever, they actually use the right elements ;D). But if you're low on health or you're dead, you can actually cal on them and they'll run forward and Recover you with an item or a spell!!! Of course, Battles varies if you're bringing an all Physical or an all Magician party, I personally love Magic in there, they really abuses them Skills when you tell your mages to XD. The controls are fluid fo your running towards and away from your enemy, the response time is fast as long as you're quick, and it's always fun to just have a team of Blademasters just hack through everything in your way while you gain free exp from their work
Camera: 7.5
Sadly, you gotta really press your camera button hard for it to move fast enough to ctach up with certain enemies, of course running with your enemies helps, but sometimes there're just too many of them...a problem, but not much of a problem actualy when your team is fully equipped with spells to heal
Lasting appeal: 9.5
I'm not really gonna classify this as LASTING APPEAL....I'd say this is more of a LENGTH of this game....if you bought them one by one, played them one by one, and waited for each release to come out...my you'd say I've never seen a game so short....BUT, if you get all the games at one go, Move your way up from Disc one, INFECTION, you'll find yourself facing lot's of enemies, unlocking several objects, goodies and weapons, and Getting yourself Allies so cute you'd find them Amusing! Play this once, and the once is enough to last you for more than 70 hrs of gameplay, trust me on that, I'm on Disc 4, I THINK I'm about halfway through, and it's already been 68hrs of play, and I intend to gather all the best possible equipment there is out there
Music: 8.0
ok....fun sometimes, but I really can't describe it, no wait, it fits awfully well for an MMORPG...that's the case during towns and different areas, I can't say much, really
Overrall Feel: 9.5
Hey, I like this game, what else can I say? It's good!
