Review:
Prince of Persia was an old game that my father played as a kid, and now Ubisoft, [Or what WAS ubisoft before EA bought them out -_-;] have revived this sereis and it has sold millions, the first series atounded many as the prince came back with penash, with that certain umph, Prince of Persia is a more technical, and tactical Tomb Raider with excellent effects and a brilliant storyline which will keep new fans and old fans come back to this game and play it no matter what age or era.
Gameplay: 9.5
In the game you control the prince, the controls are pretty much the same as the previous game, but this time, their really crisp and accurate. There are new combat skills to be learned which is a bonus as well as the ability to pick up enemies' weapons. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within's controls are FAAAR from crap. Gameplay is the key feature in every gamers mind when playing a game, and this game delivers all the gamer expects and if not more. There is also a games mode which allows you to choose your difficulty settings, but from experience, even Easy level is hard if you're not careful! there is also an added extra features which allows you to receive unlockables. You can unlock various types of items ranging from pictures to items, and clothes.
Graphics: 8
The graphics of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within are elegant and crisp. Ubisoft went all out. The FMV's are beautiful, and it feels like you're playing the game during the scenes. Having said this, it doesn't give the gamer the certain excited posture, which is where this game flaws. If you recall FFX's FMV's, you'll notice that you get blown away by the sheer graphics. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within does not have this, but it still maintains the gamers interest, this is becasue FMV's are short and to the point.
Camera: 7.5
The camera angle is usually the flaw of a game and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is no different. During gameplay, the camera tends to freeze on a certain object i.e a rock if you are playing in a narrow field or a small area. In open areas, the camera angle is excellent, and there is First person feature mode which cancels out the flaw, but think again.. the problem with first person mode is that you cant walk around staying in that mode.
Play Duration: 9
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within will keep you busy, but a dedicated fan might complete it with in 2-4 weeks which is still not bad considering what mode you play the game in.
Music: 8.0
The battle music seems to be the same which makes the game abit dull but the boss music is excellent, and a range of instruments are used to make a dreary effect which tends to make the gamer a little nervous
Overrall Feel: 9.5
I love this game, I can't wait till I complete it! I will continue my dad's legacy lol hey, the dude completed Prince of Persia on PC the first one in front of me when I was 11, so what can I say..
I showed my Dad how the new Prince of Persia sereis was like, but with bills to pay and such, he said when he gets the chance he'll play it, but from first looks he said that they never stuck with the storyline, and they should still have the classic version in the game, '3D graphics are too complicated for me' he said
Though saying this, I think he'll like it if he got the chance to play it, I know I like it!
