Review:
The 10th year edition of KOF series. Well, what's new, well, in this one, SNK have gone 3d and introduced new characters. The gameplay is decent along with the Fighting Engine. But overall, we can see a more advanced version of Rival Schools. KOF Max impact doesn't bring anything new in the battle system to the playing field which would leave us at the edge of our seats or make us grind our teeth becasue of the bosses.
Gameplay: 7
I found the gameplay very Rival Schools based. It has some Guilty Gear combo elements as well. There is the nifty side step to dodge attacks. But I feel there should be more to a players defense than just the old block and side step, I want more reversals in the game!!
Graphics: 8
This game has standard 3d graphics for a PS2. SNK could have done better by going all out with the stages like in Soul Calibur but overall a thumbs up
Camera: 9
I dont think there are any faults with this, appart from if you corner your opponent next to the wall, the camera zooms in slightly messing up your flow! lol so lets move on.
Play Duration: 6.5
With a story mode, and such this game will have you in your seat for maybe a week if you're dedicated, about a month if you play it casually
Music: 8.0
The music is performed beautifully, but there are some flaws in where I feel that the rock turns into a sort of Jazz feel which is not exactly KOF is it?
Overrall Feel: 7
A solid 7 will do for this game, there are slightly more flaws than the good points but I think SNK have maintained their game and are doing well! Thumbs up to you SNK!!
