Ok yes before anyone asks: Do you even have the game or even played it? My answer is: Yes I have it and I've beaten it. Now let me do this review BTW if you do not want to be spoiled then it's a good idea to read this with caution!!!
Ok to start this off I gotta say that this game was amazing and was so worth the wait of its making. The battle system is for the most part the same but with an added new feature: the reaction command. What the reaction command does is, if able to, u press triangle and u do something special that you normally couldn't do to say help you kill 1000 heartless, beat a boss, or just do a cool move on any enamy or a co-op move with a partner. This was a great new addition and takes a little getting used to but becomes very easy and handy later on. With the addition to co-op moves we also have drive forms which allow you to transform with specific teamates (Sora/Goofy, Sora/Donald, Sora/Donald&Goofy, and Sora/Donald/GoofyorDonalf/RikuorGoofy/Riku). These forms are as followed: Brave Form, Wisdom Form, Master Form, Final Form, and Anti-Form. You get these various forms at different parts of the game and u also have a drive bar which alloows u to go into a drive form and use summons (which I think are useless). Magic now is a lot more different, instead of seperate bars of MP u have 100 MP and each spell costs so much MP, MP recovers over time btw. every spell needs say 10-30 MP while Cure spells require all of ur MP (very annoying after a while). The spells Sora gets to use in this game are: Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Cure, Reflect, and Magne.
Now to the worlds, the worlds are as followed: Twilight Town, Hollow Baston/Radiant Garden, Agrabah, Holloween Town, Underworld Olympus Colliseum, Beast's Castle, Disney Castle, Pride Land, The Land of the Dragons, Timeless River, Space Paranoids, Atlantica, Port Royal, and The World the Never Was. My personal favorite worlds were Pride Land, Space Paranoids, and The World that Never was. All the old worlds that have been brought back are completly changed, like Hollow Baston is now a city instead of a castle. To add to the outer space/world theme the Gummi Ship idea is greatly improved over what it used to be, now you have some better looking pre-made ships and mission are actually fun and the game makes u want to fly in space more.
Finally the overall game and storyline. The story is very intense and pulls u in very fast with the new characters and enamies. With these enamies there are the Nobodies and the Organization XIII. Which the story revolves around now instead of the heartless. As the story progresses you learn more about the mysterious blond haired kid named Roxas who has memories of various things like (cencered for spoilers). I'd have to say the story and the game itself is just great, oh and the music? Well Passion fits so well in this game and so do each worlds theme songs. Also the story seems a little easier to understand if you've played/beaten KH1 and KH: CoM.
After playing and beating the game I'd have to say I recommend playing this if you can, it's extremly fun and addicting but leads you into...KH3...
Game Score: 18/10 (could've been a 20/10 except I hated atlantica being a musical area, sephiroths way to hard to beat now even with the ultima weapon, and the final boss is a bit to easy).
Enjoy!
