On NarutoFan.com there's an article almost spelling death for Naruto here in America.
Cartoon Network today announced several major acquisitions for their venerable Toonami action-animation block. Fan-favorite "Naruto" will join the block in the third quarter of 2005, while "One Piece" will move to Toonami in May. Toonami original IGPX will expand into a full series from Production IG. "The Batman" will see a Toonami airing beginning April 2, ShoPro acquisition "Zatch Bell" will start in March, and nosehair-fighting anime "Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo" is coming in the fourth quarter. The show will be aimed at young viwers and their parents. Which most likely means we will be seeing the same highly criticized translations that appear in the USA manga, I guess it will be just like American One Piece!
Now I was happy the game was coming over and semi happy that the show will be too, until I heard where the show is going to be aired: Toonami... If this word strikes terror into your heart good, because it should. If it doesn't, then you'd better take a look at the originals of everything that's ever been on Toonami. You'll see a gross difference. First of all Toonami has a thing with anime about completely destroying it. They tend to show it and then milk it for all it's worth until it's not even remotely interesting anymore. Naruto is no exception. My prediction is that it will be edited the crap out of and all the good parts are long gone. Sexy No Jitsu is still in there but here's what it looks like now: www.picaroni.com/bathingsuit_naruto.gif. and Kakashi's book is probably out the window. all the swearing is gone, blood is gone, they probably won't be using any Japanese terms (kun, chan, sensei) and the ninja ranks will probably be skewed. and then the merchandising will begin. The day it comes on Toonami it's going to be a sad day for that series. There's talk that it could go to adult swim, and I hope to God it does, because while there will STILL be parts edited, it won't be as horribly butchered as on Toonami. Here's hoping
